Thanks to your donation, we have already equipped one team of 25 people with protective eyewear. These glasses have already been distributed and are used in the field. Purchase for another three teams, 80 people in total, is currently underway.

The eyes are among the most vulnerable parts of the human body. Unlike many other injuries, severe eye trauma often cannot be repaired, and vision that is lost may never be restored.

As one of the men put it: “We are ready to lose an arm or a leg, but we must keep our eyesight.” A catastrophic eye injury resulting in complete blindness is one of the most devastating wounds a person can suffer. In an instant, a person loses the ability to navigate independently or even perform daily tasks without assistance from others.

The growing use of suicide drones has made eye protection more important than ever. When a drone strikes on people of Israel, the danger is not limited to the direct target. High-speed fragments or shattered debris can injure everyone in the surrounding area. A fragment can permanently destroy an eye and result in lifelong blindness.

Thanks to your donation, we are also in the process of purchasing six medical vests and 20 medical bags for groups of medics, enabling them to provide immediate first aid and operate more safely in demanding conditions.

Due to the rugged terrain in the north, foot patrols are used far more frequently than in other areas. At the same time, medical evacuation by helicopter has become increasingly difficult because of the constant threat posed by attack drones. As a result, wounded personnel often cannot rely on rapid evacuation and may have only one chance of survival: receiving advanced medical care directly at the point of injury.

Providing rapid, and at times advanced medical care places an enormous responsibility on the medics. Any delay can have devastating consequences; hence the role of a dedicated medical vest designed specifically for organizing and carrying emergency medical equipment.
