Our hearts are broken. We stand in deep sorrow and solidarity with the Jewish community after the horrific antisemitic terrorist attack at the Hanukkah celebration in Sydney’s Bondi Beach. What was meant to be a joyful gathering to celebrate the Festival of Lights turned into a scene of unimaginable tragedy, with at least 15 people killed and many more wounded.

Antisemitism in any form is abhorrent and has no place in our society. We are outraged that people were attacked simply for their faith and for coming together in peace.

To the families who lost loved ones and to all those injured—your pain is our pain. We send our deepest condolences, prayers, and support. May the memories of the deceased be for a blessing.

As a community, we stand united against antisemitism and all forms of hate.
