Summer 2014
Dear friends of Russian Jewish Community Foundation,
It's been six months already since my last letter to you, and much have happened during this period of time.
My name is Emil Isakov, I am 27 years old and I am a Mechanic-Engineering student at Ort-Brauda collage in the city of Carmiel.
I am study mechanical-engineering in second year , a subject which I chose to major at due to my great interest in the exact sciences and because it is a natural continuum of my high school major studies of mechanical electronics. Another reason for my choice of this particular study is the fact that in the current job-market in Israel, engineering seems to be one of the very few professions that allows a man to make a decent living.
I really enjoy the academic subjects and my test scores are very high because of the investment and interest in the field, the studies are not easy and we have many papers to tern and many tests to take every semester . The previous semester I managed to finish with a very high average thanks much investment and time at my disposal to invest in studies.
As a part of my voluntary duty, I chose to volunteer at an organization called "Eshel" in Carmiel that Includes elderly population that come to our club evey day .In this organization I help the team make various cultural events, for example: various holidays, memorial days, birthdays and more.
Volunteering makes me feel great and gives me a much needed mental strength.
I feel that my first step towards self-fulfillment is made possible by your support which allows me to free time and a to have financial backing so I could devote my self completely to my studies rather than being occupied with low-paying and time-consuming jobs to pay for my degree. For that I thank you dearly. You are not only helping me financial-wise, but you actually help me to succeed in my studies and in my life.
Again, thank you very much for you generous efforts!
It makes me optimistic to know that there are people like you, which are willing to help in such a tremendous way.
Have a nice and cool summer, yours Emil Isakov.
