Club Z – Jewish Education program for teens
Posted on October 11, 2021
Club Z has have just opened a Boston chapter of Club Z, a Zionist club for teens.
Club Z's educational program focuses on learning the history of Israel and antisemitism, pro-Israeli advocacy, and general advocacy skills, and prepares the kids to confront the sad reality that they often face today in schools and universities.
It also provides the kids with an opportunity to interact with like-minded individuals.
During the 2021-2022 school year, a Club Z pilot program targeted at 12-14-year-olds (7-9 graders) will be available in the Greater Boston area.
The pilot program will include 5 educational in-person sessions led by Club Z educators, with the first meeting scheduled for October 17, 2021.
The pilot program will also include social gatherings that will be announced separately.

Brief Description of the Curriculum for the Club Z Pilot Program
Session 1: Story of 2 Coins
This session explores the origins of Judea and Palestine; why we are called Jews; and what is the significance of historic versus ancestral presence in the land today. This foundational session is a corollary to understanding today’s conflict.
Session 2: Maps and intro to the Conflict
“Maps and intro to the Conflict” introduces students to story-telling via maps. In this dynamic session, teens examine historic and contemporary maps from Israel, Judea Samaria, West Bank, Gaza, and the world at large, in order to show how maps may carry agenda.
Session 3: Israel and the World at Large
This session celebrates the power of the Jewish state and how Israel, being a light onto the nations, reaches the world at large through medical and humanitarian aid and empowers the world to shine.
Session 4: The Zion of Zionism
This session explores the idea of Zionism: from a place to movement, “The Zion of Zionism” expands beyond the political movement of the 19th century to reclaim Jewish identity by discussing the physical and metaphysical importance of Zion to the Jewish people.
Session 5: Meet Club Z Alumni
We conclude this year’s pilot by bringing Club Z alumni to facilitate a discussion around Jewish pride and advocacy.
Club Z was also a subject of a recent article in the Tablet Magazine.
