Letter from our IDF soldier: Oksana Karimov (Winter 2017)
Posted on January 27, 2018
Dear Donors,
It's been several months since my last letter to you, and a lot has happened in this period.
First of all, I finished my fourth semester of my degree, out of 6. Currently, I have passed all my exams so I started my third and last year without academic duties. With the financial support I receive from you through IMPACT, it is easier for me to concentrate on my studies.
I work as a part of IMPACT scholarships this year. I volunteer for a visually impaired woman. As part of my volunteer work, I go out with her on trips outside her home, help her buy products and even take her out for events at the community.
Unfortunately, during my semester break I did not have time to do something interesting that I could share with you because of the number of academic papers I had to submit.
This year as part of my studies, I teach twice a week in grade 2 elementary school. As part of the experience, I teach arithmetic and verbal problems.
This year I learned to make sushi, I'm still learning the subject but my friends and I really enjoy eating sushi at home. I attach a picture of one of the times I prepared for my friends.
Have a nice warm winter and thank you again for this great contribution.
Sincerely yours,
Oksana Karimov
