Posted on March 6, 2008
We have a very exciting news. RJCF is now partner with the Jewish National Fund in a summer/winter camp project for children of Sderot. This is a very significant milestone in the recognition of our community's effort in humanitarian activity in Israel, and in Sderot in particular.
On March 4th, 2008, RJCF held a reception for Maj. Gen. (res.) Uzi Dayan, former deputy Chief of the General Staff of IDF and national security adviser under Prime Ministers Ariel Sharon and Ehud Barak. Currently General Dayan is chairman of Hugey Sayarut/Green Horizons youth movement which seeks to teach Israeli youth love of the country through the appreciation of the land. Hugey Sayarut/Green Horizons is a 30-year old program of the Jewish National Fund, one of the oldest Jewish international charitable organizations Jewish National Fund and Russian Jewish Community Foundation have started working on organizing summer and winter camps for children of Sderot. Last year we brought twenty children of Sderot to Boston. This year we will take fifty children of the Sderot to a camp in the hills of Jerusalem during their summer and winter vacation.
