2015 Boston Sderot Camp Update
Posted on May 6, 2015

Boston Sderot Camp We cannot help all the people of Israel, but we can help MORE kids from Sderot in Southern Israel go to OUR summer camp.

Last summer, RJCF had to change the plans for the Boston Sderot Camp for an alternative The Retreat from Rockets Program due to the dangerous security situation in Israel. While RJCF could not support our Boston teens traveling to Israel as the rockets were falling, we remained 100% committed to the Boston Sderot Camp project.

This summer our Boston young people are again getting ready for the camp - they are raising money and making plans to travel to Israel in July 2015. RJCF is funding 50 children from Sderot, but we have many more children on a wait list to get into the camp program.

Less than a month left before the Boston-Sderot Summer Camp opens its door to the children of Sderot.

We need your support!

Boston Sderot Camp The Boston-Sderot Summer Camp offers 50 children from Sderot, ages 8 - 15, a summer's respite. Located in Sde Boker, the camp is about 75 km from Gaza, and is run by counselors (mostly college students) from the United States.

This is 9th year of the program, and year after year, we have seen this camp create a tangible connection between the counselors and the Land of Israel, building not only a bond between them and the children of Sderot, but also a sense of responsibility and community.

We have the opportunity this year to send even more children from Sderot to the camp.

$360 will support one child for the full camp session. We hope you will help us provide the opportunity for these children to leave their missile-ridden home, and forge relationships that transcend languages and borders.

In addition, although our counselors raised funds to pay for their trip, RJCF must purchase an evacuation insurance for them. It's another expense that needs to be urgently covered, before the beginning of the trip.

Thank you to all who continue to support the program!
