RJCF - Russian Jewish Community Foundation

RJCF and the Friends if Israel Defence Force program

RJCF participates in the Friends Of Israel Defence Forces project; its motto:
"Their job is to look after Israel. Ours is to look after them."

RJCF provides a scholarship for three former IDF combat soldiers, who otherwise cannot afford a higher education.
We are making a direct impact on their lives by giving them the gift of higher education.

Some excerpts from the letters our soldiers sent to the Russian Jewish Community are posted here:

Dear Russian Jewish Community Fdn,

I want to thank you for the scholarship I have received. My name is Michael Kulikov, I am a Technion student. ...

... When I was 16 I came to Israel alone in the framework of the NAALE project ...

... After high school, I served in the IDF as a combat soldier in the Armored Corps, 7th Brigade. My position was a driver of a battle tank Merkava...

... As a part of the Impact Scholarship Program I volunteer with Latet organization, where I participate in the aid project for struggling Holocaust survivors. Once a month I bring a basket of food to the home of the two-three survivors, every week I visit two of them at home. Some of them speak only Russian, so they face many difficalties because of the lack of Hebrew knowledge and can use my help.

I know it would be hard for me to study without scholarship I have recieved. Thanks to you I am the 1st semester student now. Due to your help I can achieve my goal and make my dream come true.

Once more, I want to thank you for your huge help.

Sincerely yours,
Michael Kulikov

... All of this, including my success and me helping other people also wouldn't be possible without your help, so as always I'd like to express my gratitude. I am sure that you can comprehend from abroad, how meaningful you're contribution really is.

Yours sencerely,
Shmul Simchony

... So it is all the important changes in my life for today. I will keep you up to date with my letters. Before I say good bye I want to thank you for helping me to bring my dreams come true, today I see it more then ever, today I am a programmer in Intel as I dreamed from age 14. Thank you very much and good bye!

Sincerely yours,
Yevgeni Sabin.
