Sam Kliger Dr. Sam Kliger is working as Director of Russian Jewish Community Affairs at the American Jewish Committee. His responsibilities include creating, developing and implementing a variety of programs with a goal to successfully integrate Russian Jews into American Jewish community and into American society at large. He serves also as a liaison between the AJC and Russian Jewish communities and organizations in the U.S. and other countries. Among other things, Sam is responsible for preparing a new generation of leaders from the Russian Jewish community.

Sam Kliger & Rudy Giuliani Sam immigrated to the U.S. from Moscow, Russia, in 1990 and for many years worked to acculturate and to integrate Soviet immigrants to this country into American culture and society. While in the Soviet Union, Sam Kliger was a “refusenik” for many years in the 1980s and was fighting for human rights and freedom.

Dr. Sam Kliger is the founder and Chairmen of the Board of the Research Institute for New Americans (RINA) – a research and think tank organization for Russian-speaking community in America. He served as principal investigator in a number of major studies surveys on Russian Jewish community. Sam serves on the Board of many grass root organizations. Dr. Sam Kliger received his Ph.D. degree in sociology from the USSR Academy of Sciences. He has published a number of works (both in English and Russian) on Russian immigrants in America.
