We, the undersigned, members and activists of the Russian Jewish community of Boston, would like the leaders of the Boston Jewish community to know we are appalled that J Street has been accepted as a member of the Jewish Community Relations Council. JCRC is supposed to represent the Jewish community and support Israel. Unfortunately, it does neither.

On The Eve of The Shavuous

We currently find ourselves in the last days of Sefirah on the eve of Shavuos, the holiday of The Giving of The Torah. Sefirah is the period of forty nine days between Pesach, when the Jewish people were freed from the Egyption exile, and the holiday of Shavuos, when we received the Torah on Mt. Sinai.

We would like to give you a report about the progress of the Russian Jewish Community Foundation's Children of Sderot program in 2010.

While Sderot and its children are accustomed to attention and help during periods of high intensity attacks, they know that once the attacks cease for a period of time, they will be forced to face their problems alone.

Somebody could ask: "Why Sderot?" The answer is ...

Such is the excitement of the children of the Sderot as they anticipate summer camp. The mayor of the missile-ravaged Israeli city was in town last week to thank Boston's Russian Jewish Community Foundation for its support of the camp and other projects.

In this weeks portion, Vayakhel-Pekudei, the Torah discusses all of the utensils and the materials used in the Mishkan [the moveable Temple]. As we know the Torah is very exact, and every word and every letter is there for a specific purpose. Because the Torah is so precise many times we learn out whole laws from an additional word or letter.
