The Board of Directors of the Russian Jewish Community Foundation (RJCF) is pleased to announce that Alex Koifman was unanimously elected as the new President of RJCF.Alex has been a key contributor to numerous RJCF programs including the Children of Sderot Project and the annual Charity Balls. He also leads the organization’s Israel advocacy efforts. In 2010, Alex was awarded Person of the Year by Forum Magazine for his accomplishments as a community leader. Alex has been involved in Jewish activism since he was a teenager. While studying Computer Science at Brandeis University, he joined the Students for Soviet Jewry movement. He has also contributed to other pro-Israel initiatives, including serving in SAREL - Volunteers for the Israel Defense Forces, creating the Heritage Bar/Bat Mitzvah program, volunteering for Yad Vashem, serving on the Board of the American Jewish Committee and the Congress of Russian Speaking Jews. Alex has been a speaker at numerous Jewish community rallies, panels and events. Alex is a Software Engineer and lives in Newton. He is the father of David and Rebecca. His hobbies are tennis, fitness, and photography. Alex’s position is that “RJCF is a community organization, and we welcome and encourage the community to participate in organizing and donating to our projects. Our mission is to maintain a vibrant Jewish community and to support Israel. Join us for yourself and for your children." | |
